Summer in Motion, Kids!
The mission of Kids in Motion is to introduce children of all ages and abilities to proper fitness techniques that will build a strong foundation for an active and healthy lifestyle. Along with physical gains, we promise that mental, emotional, and social developments will dramatically increase in a safe and positive environment that will promote self-confidence, appropriate social skills, and enthusiasm to work together to achieve a common goal.
The founders are “child advocates” who encourage kids of all abilities to participate. ‘Kids in Motion’ are dedicated to using integrated movement techniques for children with disabilities and exceptional needs. “We love working against the odds and we are driven to create something truly special.”
Groups are open to youth from 5 to 18. Class sizes vary but include yoga, boxing, circuit training and self-defense. Classes are held at various fitness venues and locations in Manatee and Sarasota counties. The founders (and coaches) all have extensive experience in fitness and working with children, especially children with special needs.
Kids in Motion’s ‘Wellness Camp’ summer camp runs June 22 to June 25, Wednesday to Saturday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. for children of all abilities ages 5 to 12. The camp, held at Definition Fit in downtown Sarasota, explores fitness fundamentals and proper fitness technique. Included in the $125 four-day camp fee ($50 per additional sibling) are smoothies, t-shirts, and camp prizes.
