Studio South Fitness Sponsors Corporate Fitness Challenge
If you’re heading to the Sarasota Farmers’ Market on Sat. Oct. 25, don’t be surprised if you see runners dodging dogs and fruit stands. To raise funds for United Cerebral Palsy, Studio South Fitness has invited several businesses and organizations to work out at their gym for six weeks, with their personal trainers. The end of these six weeks culminates in an “urban race” held on Oct. 25 in a scavenger hunt in downtown Sarasota. The corporate fitness challenge consists of five or six people in teams. Kevin Curtis, director of sales and business development says the challenge “works on team building, morale, how to work with each other, and etc. “It’s a lot of fun. “
Kevin says anyone with health on their mind, from 20s-50s can take the challenge. “They’ll be running through the farmers’ market like crazy people,” says Kevin. You’ll see them performing 29 pushups at the fountain. “They’ll take a certain pictures with vegetables. There will be stuff to do at different locations. “
Additionally, people can participate in another fundraiser for UCP at Caragiulos, 69 S. Palm Ave. on Friday Oct. 17, from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. You’ll find raffle prizes, food donations, plus, 10 percent of all purchases go back to UCP.
